CLT or Cross Laminated Timber

CLT or Cross Laminated Timber

CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) is an innovative solid timber construction material composed of several layers of timber lamellae bonded and compressed at right angles to each other. This gives the panels exceptional strength in two directions, making them suitable as load-bearing wall and floor elements in solid wood construction.

CLT Wood Solutions

Korlam utilises CLT for creating lightweight, structural wooden constructions where speed of execution and accuracy are key. The panels are premanufactured and assembled on-site, significantly reducing construction time and minimising disruption on the construction site.

Benefits of CLT: CLT combines the warmth and durability of wood with the structural performance of concrete or steel. The material is fire and sound resistant, dimensionally stable, and creates an excellent indoor climate. CLT buildings are becoming increasingly popular in urban contexts where fast, lightweight, and sustainable construction is a requirement.

By gluing wood layers or lamellae under controlled conditions, structural elements are created with high load-bearing capacity, design freedom, and dimensional stability. They allow for large spans to be achieved.
